How we handle your information when you browse the site, contact us or purchase a placement.

Who controls your data

Dominic O Norton LTD, trading as Wear My Startup, is the controller of personal information collected through this website. Privacy questions and rights requests can be sent to dnorton@dominiconorton.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Your name, email address and information in contact messages.
  • Order details, Stripe checkout reference, payment status, invoice details, selected event, influencer and blazer positions.
  • Artwork, logos and related files you upload.
  • Basic technical, security and device information needed to operate and protect the website.

We do not receive or store your full payment-card details; Stripe processes those details.

Why we use it

We use order and contact information to perform our contract with you: taking payment, reserving placements, reviewing artwork, sending confirmations and invoices, tracking an order and providing support.

We also use information where necessary for our legitimate interests in securing and improving the service, responding to enquiries and keeping appropriate business records; to meet legal obligations such as tax and accounting requirements; and, where required, with your consent.

Who receives it

We share only what is necessary with service providers that help us operate: Stripe for payments and invoices, Resend for transactional email, Supabase for order operations and uploaded artwork, and our website hosting and delivery providers. We may also disclose information where required by law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where this happens, we rely on the provider's lawful transfer safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual protections.

How long we keep it

We keep information only as long as needed for the purpose collected. Order and transaction records are normally retained for up to six years after the relevant accounting period where needed for legal, tax and dispute purposes. Contact enquiries are normally kept for up to two years. Artwork is kept through the campaign and for a reasonable support and record-keeping period, then deleted or anonymised when no longer needed.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to use of your information, and to receive portable data. You may withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis for processing. We do not use personal information for decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects solely by automated means.

Contact us to exercise a right. You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and security

We use essential technology needed for site operation, checkout and security. If we introduce optional analytics or advertising cookies, we will update this notice and request consent where required. We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect information, although no internet service can promise absolute security.

Updates

We may update this policy as our services or legal obligations change. The date at the top shows the latest revision.
